Day 1: Juneau Embarkation

Board the Wilderness Legacy just in time for a welcome cocktail or glass of champagne before dinner. The captain and crew will introduce themselves and provide an overview of the adventure that awaits this week with a kick off toast! (D)

Day 2: Hobart Bay

Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of Hobart Bay. Start your day with a refreshing kayak excursion, gliding through calm waters or join our naturalists on an invigorating hike, uncovering the secrets of the local flora and fauna. In the afternoon, embark on a skiff ride for up-close views of the bay’s stunning glaciers and a chance to spot eagles soaring overhead. As the day winds down, gather on deck for wildlife watching, an evening happy hour and photo share in the lounge or captivating presentation by our expert guides. (BLD)

Day 3: LeConte Glacier & Ideal Cove

Enjoy LeConte Glacier, noted as the southernmost tidewater glacier in the Northern Hemisphere, and an awe-inspiring landscape. Guests witness the glacier’s imposing beauty up close, a highlight of the Alaskan wilderness.

In addition to the glacier visit, the day includes Ideal Cove. Here, guests can engage in various activities, such as hiking and biking along scenic trails, immersing themselves in the serene natural surroundings. We may wander for more hiking and wildlife watching if the timing is right. (BLD)

Day 4: Thomas Bay

Wake near Cascade Creek in Thomas Bay. This bay is the quintessential playground for our guests and crew. Long flat hikes, steep elevation climbs, calm kayaking, and hikes to a glacial lake with the mighty Baird Glacier still calving ice into the lake may all be options today. Depending on tides, we may start the day near Cascade Creek or at Scenery Cove near Baird Glacier. Regardless, after lunch the boat will move to the opposite end of Thomas Bay for more adventures. This is an epic day for adventurers. Evening skiff tours and kayaks take in the pre dark hours when the sounds of the wilds beckon. (BLD)

Day 5: Bay of Pillars & Whale Watching

This day is devoted to seeking out the majestic marine life that inhabits the waters of the bay. The Bay of Pillars, situated within the Kuiu Wilderness of the Tongass National Forest in Alaska’s Alexander Archipelago, is a picturesque and remote destination. Guests can expect to encounter a diverse array of sea life, including Humpbacks, Orcas, Steller Sea Lions, Porpoises, Dolphins, Pelagic birds, Seals, and other marine species. The cruise through these whale-rich waters offers a thrilling and intimate experience with nature. We may embark on a kayak excursions or a guided skiff tours to explore the hidden coves and the intricate coastline more closely. (BLD)

Day 6: Pavloff & Hidden Falls

Option to start your day with an early morning exploration of majestic Pavloff Falls, a hidden gem in Alaska’s vast wilderness. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to engage hiking the dense Alaskan forest, leading to a spectacular viewpoint of the falls. The hike not only offers breathtaking views but also a chance to learn about the local flora and fauna from expert naturalists. We enjoy Hidden Falls, known for its abundant wildlife and scenic landscapes. Here, guests can choose between various activities, including more kayaking, or exploring the area via skiffs. The day concludes with a relaxing evening onboard, where guests can share their experiences and photos with fellow travelers. (BLD)

Day 7: Glacier Bay

Today we will anchor in one of three outback areas of this epic national park. This will include one of the rarely visited areas of either Fern Harbor, Dundas Bay, or No Name Cove near Excursion Inlet. The entire day is set aside for activity, starting with early morning kayak and birding departures into the park. Full activities may include kayaking, paddle boarding, skiff excursions, hiking, beach strolls and more. Meals may be aboard the Wilderness Legacy or packed as a picnic. (BLD)

Day 8: Juneau Disembarkation

Welcome back to Juneau. Enjoy your last breakfast aboard. Check every nook and cranny of your cabin for all of your things and say farewell to the crew as we disembark. (B)
