Wilderness Discoverer

Wilderness Discoverer

Sailing for UnCruise Adventures

Adventure and discovery are at the heart of the 76-passenger Wilderness Discoverer. Loaded with amenities and a lounge evoking the feel of a National Park lodge or neighborhood pub, this expedition vessel, from top to bottom, exudes the spirit of exploration.

Inviting, and oh so cared for by her crew, the Wilderness Discoverer delivers big adventure with top-of-the-class style. Wild, remote, and at the edges of the map, she carries a bit of Alaska wherever she sails—the beautiful bar top and tap tower are made from a yellow cedar log found in Peril Strait. But looks aside, she doesn’t hold back when it comes to exploration. Her shoal draft allows access to waters that are off-limits to bigger boats, where she can slip right in.

An instigator of action, she was the first “Wilderness” boat in the family and set us on a path toward greater adventures—you will be too. She features an EZ Dock kayak launch platform, kayaks, paddleboards, inflatable skiffs, hiking poles, snorkel gear/wetsuits, and a bow-mounted underwater camera.

Wilderness Discoverer Details

There are 38 cabins across 4 categories. Cabins are small and intimate.

Cabins are equipped with flat-screen TV/DVD players and there’s a collection of DVDs available onboard for you to borrow from in the main lounge. While television channels are unavailable due to the remote areas we visit, the bow cam will broadcast over one of the channels. Daily updates, menus, and schedules can also be viewed on TV.

Each cabin offers a hairdryer, conditioning shampoo, and body wash. Aboard some of our end ships, bathrobes are also provided. Wilderness Discoverer also has an iron onboard, but remember, dress is casual so no need to be perfectly pressed.

Cabins have limited storage space underneath the bed and in the cabinet. Our recommendation: soft-sided, expandable luggage or duffles—the more they squish, the more room you’ll have. While there is no limit, storage space is limited and whatever you bring needs to be stowed in your cabin. Try to limit your bags to two soft-sided bags per cabin.

All electrical outlets are standard 110 Volt, the same voltage as in North America.
