Day 6: Mount Vernon, VA
Mount Vernon stands as an iconic American landmark, honoring the legacy of our nation’s first President. Originally built in 1735 as a modest one-and-a-half-story house by his father, George Washington acquired Mount Vernon in 1754. Over the next 45 years, he expanded the home into the grand 21-room estate we see today.
