There were six of us on the Alaska Dream Cruises beginning of June, sailing when the sun never went down. What a joy the whole experience was. We called Linda at Sunstone Tours, we were asking about Regent which was way to large, even if they call it a small ship, it is not. In a few minutes conversation, Linda filled our e-mail box with information on Alaska Dream. We had done research, but it was a company we had not come across.
From the get-go, we were impressed. Documents were easy to read, day by day schedule was well detailed. We were told when and where to be, and we followed all directions.
We all live in different parts of the country so we met up in Seattle for a night at an airport hotel and flew up to Sitka together. We met everyone at the airport. A nice group of likeminded people from all over the country and two from England and two from Norway.
Our cabins were small even though they were the Vista the largest on the ship. Others I assume were REALLY small. Food delicious, staff outstanding, knowledgeable, and friendly. The ship was sparkling clean although not brand new by any means, well maintained.
Sailed out of Sitka where the company has its headquarters. Visited ports, saw many whales, had a hike in Glacier Bay. Wrangell, Kassan, Metlakatla we were the only ship in sight. That was a treat compared to Juneau. The small ships know how to get away from the crowds.
All six of us felt this was value plus for the money. Each day exceeded our expectations. Wish the company sailed other places than Alaska. We all want to go to Costa Rica in 2018. We will call you for your advice of ships to go on.
