Alaskan Dream

Cruise Review: Alaskan Dream – Glacier Bay Island Adventure – July 2017

We can’t say enough good things about the Alaskan Dream cruise. Everyone on the Alaskan Dream team (from the captain to the ship stewards to the young people who organized the transfers and led the tours in Sitka) were fabulous. The cruise was just right for us – just the right level of activity with hikes and kayaking opportunities everyday. The size of the ship was a plus – 58 passengers! The food was excellent (The only downside is that we both have 8 pounds to take off before the next Weight Watchers meeting at the end of the month!)

There were two naturalists on board and they were both amazing. We were very lucky with both the weather and the wildlife – sun came out every day except for our first day in Sitka. We saw five orca whales teaching a baby orca how to hunt a sea otter and one night the captain announced at dinner that we were literally surrounded by humpback whales! We watched them forming a bubble net to hunt fish with the sun setting behind them – unbelievable!

Our accommodations in Juneau, were very comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding in the restaurant.

We enjoyed working with you in planning our trip, you know your stuff, and would welcome any suggestions you might have for seeing Denali next year. Again, we would be looking to maximize the nature and wildlife viewing opportunities and minimize the large group tourist experiences and jewelry shopping!
