Wilderness Explorer sailing near Glacier

Cruise Review: Wilderness Explorer – Northern Passages & Glacier Bay – September 2018

We were very lucky that we had a bright sunshine week (60-70 F). In fact, it hit 75 degrees on Thursday. Global warming is here!

We also had a couple of old friends on board. Dan and Mike. Food was much better than the last 2 cruises. Menu was more mainstream and tasty. It’s also good that drinks are FOC and free flow.

Whales – only a couple but it was late in the season. Northern lights were a surprise – 4 hours of it from 11 pm – 3 am in Glacier National Park one evening.

Bears – we had a 1-hour experience of them feeding on Salmon in a river. Also managed to see the Salmon run, seals, otters, mountain goats, etc.

Sitka was beautiful.
