Safari Endeavour

Cruise Review: Safari Endeavour Cruise Review – July 2022

After our Covid cancel and cancel and cancel (well it seemed that way), we finally had our dream trip to Alaska.

It was wonderful and more than we expected.

We flew into Juneau one day early, way too much to see and do for one day, wish we had planned on a few days.

We met the crew at the appointed spot on the afternoon of our cruise and we were taken care of from that moment forward.

Cabin was ok, not like a suite on a Princess ship but this is an expedition ship and Linda told us to to understand that. Honestly your cabin is to sleep and change clothes and nothing more. We barely spent any time laying around, always something going on especially looking for the next whales to top up.

Whales they did, seemed like a few each day, not major pods, but the few were always right close to the ship, I mean sometimes you could feel and smell them as the seemed to like staying near the ship. We wonder who was watching who at times.

The crew the naturalists the whole program runs like clockwork. We were in the middle of the season so it was all smooth and organized. However, not so, as almost every day due to some nature issue the program would change from the plan. One afternoon we were in a kayak group and coming back for lunch when we saw some unique birds circle overhead. We sat quietly watching and were late for lunch. This was ok, as it was communicated and they knew when we were coming back to the ship. Uncharted makes it exciting.

It was a wonderful week with good weather. We put down a deposit for our next cruise with UnCruise and will probably look at Galapagos, another bucket list destination for us. Linda at Sunstone tours had us well prepared which we believe helped our enjoyment.
