Sea Cloud

Cruise Review: Sea Cloud – Under Sail: Greece to the Dalmatian Coast – June 2017

It was great! All of our other Nat Geo/ Lindblad expeditions had emphasized nature and we knew going in this one would be different.

Well, we had as much of an exciting time as the previous trips. The ship is remarkable. Certainly more luxurious than the other vessels we have traveled on, which we expected, but it was much more than that. The whole sailing experience was remarkable, as was the history. I finished the American Empress, Life and Times of Marjorie Merriweather Post, onboard, thank you for the wonderful book. For those of your clients reading this, the Sea Cloud was built in 1931 By E.F. Hutton for his wife Marjorie Merriweather Post. Who at the time owned Mar-A-Logo. The Owner Suites are the cabins they stayed in with something like 400 square feet, marble bathrooms, and fireplaces. We did not stay in those cabins.

In addition, we both loved the itinerary. The historical sites/ ruins/ UNESCO stops were very interesting. Our Expedition Leader had many great contacts in the various towns we visited that added to the experience. We were extremely pleased with the work of the Expedition Leader, his assistant, and the historian. They all made significant contributions to the overall experience.

The food, the cabin, the staff, all top-rated as usual for Lindblad. When the sails are up, it is magical.
