Wilderness Explorer

Cruise Review: Wilderness Explorer – Northern Passages & Glacier Bay Plus Denali Land Tour – August 2018

John and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip with Uncruise. Everything worked very smoothly and there were no problems with the extra days you arranged.

We started with an extra day in Fairbanks at the River’s Edge. Then onto the land tour. It was a small group with just 17 of us. We got along very well and I think we had an outstanding group. The train ride was lovely and the bus ride to Denali was where we saw the most animals. We did experience a fair amount of rain both weeks but the group was enthusiastic and we carried on. We enjoyed having individual cabins at each of our stops on the land portion. Both at Kantishna and Knik River.

Then a flight down to Juneau. We had a lovely week on the ship, Wilderness Explorer. Again, very nice people, young, enthusiastic guides and excellent food. We hiked, kayaked or road in the zodiacs each day. We did see whales and saw one whale breech very close to the zodiac. We did see a number of eagles. We enjoyed the programs on the ship. The only recommendation we would have is for the ship to have less emphasis on the bar and more activities.

Thank you again for all you did for us.
