The 48-passenger riverboat Jahan is appointed in grand style, with large, gracious staterooms and luxurious touches.
You’ll find time aboard relaxing and enlightening—the perfect place to relax between exploring the temples and towns and learning the way of life along the river.
Public Spaces
Jahan’s public spaces include a covered, open-air observatory, open bow, and small pool on the top deck. The dining room easily accommodates all guests at once for a single seating, and the large lounge is the heart of our expedition community—where we gather each evening for a tradition called Recap. While the ship is luxurious, life aboard is casual in every regard, and there is no need for formal clothing. And you’ll find shipboard services like laundry make packing and traveling more convenient.
Lounge & Bar
At the stern of the upper deck, you’ll find the enclosed, air-conditioned lobby lounge. This is the heart of the onboard expedition community and the venue for where we gather for talks and evening Recaps. It is outfitted with facilities for films and offers generous space for our entire community. Bar service is available here all day and until the last guest leaves at night. Immediately adjacent are the reception area and the boutique.
The covered funnel bar, on the terrace deck, is surrounded by tables and chairs and is a great place for a sundowner or a nightcap, or for relaxing during the day and enjoying the scenery.
Dining
The dining room aboard Jahan accommodates the entire expedition community in a single seating. Some tables accommodate an odd number of people to encourage easy mingling. Dress is always casual and the general ambience is relaxed and informal.
Breakfast is served buffet-style, featuring freshly squeezed juices and a variety of fresh fruit, pastries, and traditional breakfast offerings. Lunch is most often buffet-style. Dinners are plated and served in the dining room, though they may occasionally be held outside—conditions permitting. Tea is served in the observatory each day, and snacks are available at the funnel bar.
During lunch and dinner your expedition leader, cultural experts, and any guest speakers aboard will join you for meals, and during breakfast, they often sit together to plan the logistics of the exciting day ahead.
Jahan Details

Soft-hued woods and colonial-style furnishings offer an ageless feel, a time that harks back to the golden age of ship travel. Bedding is luxurious cotton, and when you return from exploring you’ll find an attentive hotel staff has made up your room. Each cabin bathroom is stocked with shampoo, shower gel, and lotion.
