Safari Explorer

Safari Explorer

Sailing for UnCruise Adventures

This high-end SUV of a ship is nimble, strong, and loving. The 36-passenger Safari Explorer has what mariners call “feet” that take her into wild areas other ships can’t visit. Her performance-built rugged construction means access to faraway regions. But it’s what’s on the inside that makes this yacht the prize of the fleet.

Lovingly called “the Bulldog,” Safari Explorer is poised, her interior is a pearl, and the general mood is down-to-earth. Throughout the year, she bops around the islands of Hawaii soaking up the laid-back aloha spirit—weaving through the islands, ready for bow-riding dolphins. A protective spirit infused in every part of the ship, and within the crew. She’s made for adventures after all and with them comes inevitable fun and folly.

Public Spaces

The Safari Explorer hosts several comfortable public areas, each providing the perfect environment to relax and make new, likeminded friends. The observation decks are excellent places for wildlife viewing, or simply relaxing under the stars. Hang out in the lounge, which offers a variety of board games, books, DVDs, and plenty of space to kick back and watch the landscape go by. An open bridge policy allows you to visit with your captain and mates. There’s even the occasional galley tour, which shows off what the chef and crew do in a limited space.

There are plenty of opportunities for wellness, fitness, and relaxation. Interact with the fitness equipment, take laps around the deck, or participate in on-deck yoga stretches.

Exploration Tools

Hike, swim, kayak, paddle board, snorkel, and sail your way through a paradise like no other.

Gear up with a snorkel and flippers, and duck below the surface to discover coral gardens teeming with underwater life. Tandem sit-on-top kayak allow you to join a guided paddle to a planned destination, or explore at your own pace on an open paddle. For an easygoing adventure, step off the beam and into an inflatable skiff. Hikes are available for every activity level; from quiet strolls to rugged climbs up to sweeping cliff-side viewpoints.

Inclusive cruises aboard Safari Explorer feature these activities at no extra charge. With a well stocked ship with outdoor recreation gear, everyone is invited to get in on the fun.

Salon aboard Safari Explorer

Salon and Bar

The spacious salon, where lectures on the environment, wildlife, history, and culture of the region are held, and wine library features cozy chairs, warm wood accents and a large flat-screen television with DVD player. Spacious couches and a piano adorn the lounge, adjacent to a full-service bar (stocked with complimentary premium beer and spirits).

The bar is guaranteed to wet passenger’s whistle. Wines tend to come from Washington and Oregon, but impressive international wines are also available. Behind the bar, you’ll find premium and small-batch, craft spirits. Cocktails are mixed with seasonal, local ingredients, house-made mixers, and cordials, even some house-infused spirits (like a cucumber vodka or gin). The UnCruise Bloody Mary mix is popular, too (guests line up for the stuff). And while the occasional tastings do pop up, most bartenders are tinkerers by nature. Inspiration can come from the unique experiences of the day, the wilderness explored, or stories from hearty explorers
