A New Era of American Luxury Cruising

American Cruise Lines expands its fleet with ten new ships and bold new horizons through 2028.

For travelers who prefer to explore close to home without sacrificing elegance or discovery, American Cruise Lines is ushering in a golden age of U.S. cruising. The company has announced an impressive expansion; ten new ships to be delivered by 2028, each designed to elevate the experience of small-ship exploration across America’s most captivating waterways.

The voyage begins this October with the debut of American Pioneer, setting sail from Florida on October 31. As the newest member of the boutique Patriot Class, American Pioneer embodies the line’s signature blend of refined design, contemporary comfort, and regionally inspired travel. It follows the successful launch of her sister ship, American Patriot, earlier this year.

Cruising America’s New Frontiers

Over the next three years, new ships will set a steady rhythm of growth, with fresh launches arriving every four months. They’ll sail not only along beloved routes such as the Mississippi River, Alaska, and the Eastern Seaboard, but also into new and distinctive frontiers, the Great Lakes, the Arkansas River, and even America’s National Parks.

This next phase of expansion builds on the company’s visionary Project Blue series, which reimagines domestic cruising with sleek Coastal Cats and modern riverboats that merge intimate scale with sophisticated design.

Among the upcoming vessels:

  • American Encore (2026) – a modern riverboat blending contemporary luxury with regional charm.
  • American Maverick, American Ranger, and American Mariner (2026–2027) – new additions to the Patriot Class, designed for small-group exploration.
  • American Grace and the line’s milestone 29th and 30th ships (2028) – next-generation riverboats that redefine the comfort and craft of American cruising.

Florida’s Grand Debut

The American Pioneer makes her maiden voyage with the new Grand Florida Coast & Keys itinerary, a 16-day voyage from Amelia Island to St. Petersburg. Guests will discover the serene beauty of Florida’s coastal inlets, barrier islands, and coral keys, an itinerary that pairs the state’s coastal splendor with the ease and intimacy only a small ship can offer.

Through April 2026, American Pioneer and American Patriot will continue to explore Florida’s sun-warmed shores, introducing travelers to a more refined way to cruise the Sunshine State—away from the crowds, yet immersed in its natural grace.

The American Way to Explore

For those who have ventured the world but long to rediscover the beauty in their own backyard, American Cruise Lines offers something rare: the spirit of exploration wrapped in modern American luxury. Each new ship is an invitation to experience familiar landscapes anew, to see the U.S. not from its highways, but from the quiet rhythm of its rivers, bays, and coasts.

Because sometimes, the most extraordinary journeys begin right at home.
